Born, raised, and educated in Miami, FL., Dr. Acosta is thrilled to return and begin his professional career serving the South Florida community that helped form him into the passionate clinician he is today. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Acosta graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami (Coral Gables) where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree for both Psychology and Theater Arts. After graduating from the University of Miami, Dr. Acosta served as an Americorps volunteer for Switchboard of Miami, the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, and the Crisis Veterans Line. It was his experiences at Switchboard of Miami that led Dr. Acosta to pursue his Psy.D. degree in clinical psychology.

Alexandra Lumarque is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist working in public school and private practice. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She also has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and an Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology from Florida International University. These experiences enabled her to accrue a plethora of clinical experiences in educational and clinical settings. (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) is a multicomponent parenting education curriculum and help parents learn effective ways to relate to their children by using parent education study groups. S.T.E.P. helps parents learn how to encourage cooperative behavior in their children while not reinforcing unacceptable behaviors.
