South Florida Mental Health Counselor
Lorena Lechter, MS, LMHC
Lorena Lechter is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor whose academic training began at Wellesley College, where she graduated Cum Laude in Sociology.
After she obtained a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Nova University with honors, she continued with her internship training at The Institute for Child and Family Health (formerly known as The Children’s Psychiatric Center). There, her psychotherapeutic work centered on children and their families.
Simultaneously, she taught Parenting Skills workshops at private and public schools throughout Dade County. In addition, Lorena completed a two year course in “Infant Mental Health” sponsored by a grant from the Children’s Trust.
Currently she continues to work with children and adolescents in her bilingual psychotherapy practice. Lorena creates an environment of empathy and warmth while she focuses in the promotion of the child and adolescent’s emotional health, essential for their optimal social and cognitive functioning capacity. This is achieved while enhancing the quality of the parent-child bond, crucial not only for the child’s healthy growth, but helpful in making parenting a more enjoyable experience.
